Maca is one root, but it grows in three colors. Peruvian tradition treats each color a little differently, and modern research is starting to explain why.
Red maca
The rarest of the three. Red maca is the one most often chosen by women, and it is traditionally used for hormone balance, mood and bone support. It is also the color most studied for prostate health in men.
Black maca
The strongest of the three. Black maca is traditionally used for energy, stamina, focus and memory. Athletes and people with long work days tend to reach for black.
Triple maca
Our blend of 60 percent red, 20 percent black and 20 percent yellow. If you are new to maca or want an everyday all-rounder, this is the place to start.
Powder or capsules?
Same maca, different habit. Powder goes into smoothies, oatmeal or coffee. Capsules are for people who want no taste and no measuring.
All our maca is grown at about 15,000 feet in the Peruvian Andes, gelatinized for easy digestion, packaged at the source and flown to the United States. Browse all maca.
